Loving Love
I posted a blog tonight and then I took it back down. My apologies to those who left lovely comments.
I just didn't feel right about leaving it up. It contained a post made by some narcissistic and ill-mannered representative from the "Hamburger Helper" canine shoe company, (*not actual name, but should be.) They made one of Walter's original shoes.
They posted a comment on the Pug Ugg site, bizarrely and aggressively complaining about not giving them credit for the design of the Pug Ugg. Say what??
Walter has worn many different shoes, and ironically this one was one of the first and one of the worst. Now they have the audacity to assume they had something to do with the Pug Ugg? Which took me a year to build? Um...Our shoes are nothing alike. Know how I know? My shoe doesn't turn his foot into hamburger.
Let me state for the record that Walters Pug Ugg is based on the suspension gizmo the rehab center made for him, old Ojibwa moccasin stitching techniques, trail wisdom from a north woods trapper and nothing else.
The representative, A.K.A. "Cruella deVille, the Utter Genius" even left her name and her company's name on the blog. Here I went out of my way to remove any trace of their name from the Pug Ugg site, so their business wouldn't be hurt...(because um...their shoes SUCK) and then they go and shout WE MADE IT! WE MADE THAT TERRIBLE SHOE! right in the comments section. Then they want to claim some sort of proprietary rights to MY shoe?
Talk about stupid.
Not to mention self-important. Did those firecrackers at Hamburger Hamlet design the Brooklyn Bridge? The Ojibwa moccasin? The otter?
At first I decided to let Cruella hang herself and keep her petty, mean-spirited post up...but then I thought, "Why am I engaging with a clearly unhappy person?" and "Why feed this negativity?" So I've taken down her stupid comment. Why? Because I love you guys and everyone's been so wonderful and the creation of the PUG UGG is awesome. A small, solid silver lining on an otherwise very dark cloud. I will not have some venomous, vainglorious ill-mannered little crab-apple mucking up our story.
So there.
(Sorry I got a lil negative there....mama gets hot under the collar when dealing with bullies. Mama gets very much like a bully herself. xoxoxoxo)

Momma T - I meant to ask you, do you need help getting otter? There is that one link on the side of the site, but if I can help let me know.
We don't think you are wrong at all to be mad. Our mom would be mad too!! Here you go through all of this hard work to build a shoe that won't turn Walter's foot raw - there is no way in He!! that they should get any sort of credit for that!!

Oh Walter's Mommy,
You have our support. It's okay to get a little steamed up sometimes when bad people take credit for things or misuse things.

The Canine Mafia can always make that a gal a cement shoe for her to wear and the entice her to take a swim. Just sayin'. . . ;-)
There's always gonna be someone who wants to drool in your kibble.
Walter is a very lucky to have such a dedicated and creative mom.

Walter and Heather - hello! Melvino and I are new to your blog and sooooo glad to have found you! I have just visited the Pug Ugg site and had happy tears in my eyes over the intense labor of LOVE (oh my, the love - I know it so well) that was able to keep Walter from the dreaded "hamburger foot". And then crying while reading your story... His story. My gosh. You all are amazing. So very glad to be connected with you here.
Love,
Jen and Melvino
