Hello all you loveable wonderful pee-po's! I am so sorry we have been out of communication. Lots of traveling and one book coming out while another is due has put blogging on the back burner. I am going to catch up with everyone's blogs now and respond, I shudder to think what I've missed!! I will attempt to load some photos here shortly, been having lots of trouble with uploading!

I feel like celebrating because he's HERE. He's inspired so many people, who can't believe his gut, determination and his love for life. He is still wearing the shoe one year later, and we still don't know if he will ever walk without it again, BUT, he's here and so are you and so, this my friends, is a good day.

May I take a moment to remind you all how much we've been through with this little one? (By WE I mean, YOU, who all have so lovingly been keeping track of our story!!!) Remember when we prayed and sent white healing light minute-by-minute, through each operation? And how I wept all the time, sure I could never make it through all this?

Now FLASH FORWARD to today! We moved to Key West, then the UK, all in search of a better life. This little guy has made me make changes in my life that were so good for me, and I made them solely b/c they were good for him! (Trickster) I've learned healing comes slow, and that it has to, or you would'nt have time to recognize the miracles. That there are more good people than bad, more love and concern in the world than darkness. Also, there is one hell of a group of people in the world called PUG PEOPLE. Bestest in the world.

Walter has helped so many people and so many people have helped him. The little bruiser has taken so many steps without his shoe...granted they are months apart and we're not sure if its nerve growth or dumb luck, but gosh darn it. He made it, I made it and you all came along with us for the ride.

We continue various forms of therapy and are always quick to try new things. Walter is not a candidate for nerve surgery at the current moment, but we have our lives down to a system now. Get up, baby powder between toesies, baby sock, new improved anklet (mom made it with velcro we got during our breakdown in Georgia!) and we're off and running! By 9pm we take shoe off, soak toesies in epsom salts/warm water than a quick massage and nighty-night.

So obviously I have to get this whole experience down on paper. If any of you want to contribute thoughts or observations, from the moment you learned of walter's accident to the ongoing saga to today, I would love to have your thoughts and try to include them in any manuscript I manage to put together. You can email me anything you want to at prettylittlemistakes a-t gmail. We love you all so much!!!!

Hi Heather & Walter! Today is a good day! You both are back with us and life is so good.

Walter has come a long way and has taught me so much. I'm struggling to walk right now because I have a bulging disc and I think of Walter often when I try to put one foot in front of the other.

I was walking on my knuckles for a while and it freaked Mom out so much. I remember when you walked like that, Walter. I re-live your struggles as I struggle through my own issues.

I'm so happy I can celebrate your life today, Walter. I love you and can't wait to see new pictures of you.

Stubby xoxo

Pee-s: I'll be sending you an email with my thoughts in the coming weeks.

Dearest Heather and
Dearest Walter ~

We have read about you when we first started our bloggy.

We feel such a connection to you both and you have a special place in our hearts!!

We came in to your journey in March and you had your little shoe.

We went backwards and read all your Mommy's notes on how she stayed up with you and fed you chicken and changed your sheets and gave you meds and just worried and loved you!!
Anakin noticed your little hat!! He always wanted one!!
While it was on the way in the mail.. he had a bad ordeal as well..

Mommy had may restless nights too and went back into your bloggy and found great comfort in reading your Mommys notes!! And your progression.
We are Grateful for our bloggy friends.
We are happy to have you as our friends.
And most of all...
Grateful for our Sweet Walter the Miracle Puggie and his Sweet Mommy!!

Many Blessings to you both and what a joyful celebration indeed!!

Much Love,
Katy, Izzy, Josie and Anakin Man (your ~whirly hat friend)

My dear, dear Walter,

HOW has it been a year? I will never forget the days surrounding the accident. I will never forget how brave you are, and I will never forget how hard your momma fought along side you.

I am SO proud of you. You continue to inspire me. Momma will try to put some words together and email them to your momma.

Have a celebratory cocktail tonight, Wally love. I am toasting to you!!!!!!!!!

A year, Wow! I remember reading about that accident. It was heartbreaking. Pugs are tough and he persevered as did you. Healing takes time and one day he will be all okay. So how long will be over in the UK? Do you have family or friends there? Glad to know that all is well with the 2 of you.

Hello Dear Walter and Heather,
We are so glad to congratulate you on the one year anniversary of your survival. If it weren't for your strength, perseverance, dedication and bravery, we would never have had the chance to know of you. You have been an inspiration in more ways than you know. We started reading your story back in the fall, before we started my bloggy. By reading about you and following the stories of all your friends and supporters we were inspired to join the blogging world as well. I wish you many more survival anniversaries and may you be leaping about shoeless by next year to celebrate.

All the best,
Kathy, Wilma, Brigitte and Sluggo

Walter's blog was one of the first pug blogs I discovered when Vito came to live with me 7 months ago. I could not stop reading it, I spent hours reading back to the beginning, laughing and crying. I can't imagine ever going through what you have been through with my Vito. I'm so glad to hear that he is plugging along. What a miracle pug indeed!
