Better!

I didn't have my phone/camera with me today so no new picture of Walter, but I will get some for tomorrow. I have to say, even though he is sore, Walter looks better to me. His body holds together better. He shifts himself more easily and no yelping

Also, he wagged his tail today...not seen that since the accident. He is sleeping comfortably and I am taking the day to rest with him. He ate THREE hamburger patties and drank lots of water since he's been home. His sutures look black and ugly, but not as awful as the metal staples. All in all, I'd say he looks better than could be expected.

We were wondering what we could do to celebrate, considering we won't leave his side for more than an hour and a half. Maybe we will just walk around the lake. That will be nice. Mom will watch him while we go, I will have my phone on and in my hand...it might even be relaxing. Oh how Walter and I used to relax! I can't wait to return to "Belly Time" Which is when we lay belly-to-belly in the morning and snorkle-kiss.

Soon. Soon!

I have an idea. Ask your vet what he thinks.....what about getting Walter one of those foot massager spa thingies?? He can sit in warm water and have like a pug hot tub? Maybe it will help with the pain and increase circulation? Hope this helps!

We're all pulling for you Walter!

It's great news that Walter's looking and feeling a bit better! I know there's a long haul ahead yet, but I'm keeping up the prayers for him, and for you, Heather -- you need to take care of yourself so you can take care of him. He is a miracle, and he will recover. :)

I am so glad Walter looks better! And wagging his tail! That is icing on the cake. It sounds like you did the right thing to fix the screw!! Way to go mom! You have been making the right decisions all along on his care! Do not doubt yourself! He is lucky to have so much love from you; and I know you are doing the right thing! Stay strong!

Sounds like he is healing if he has that good of an appetite! Best wishes for a speedy recovery so you can get back to snuggling with your Walter! Enjoy your walk and relax!

Thank you for the well wishes.

Emily - you have quite a posse! Water will definitely be a part of Wallys therapy, the U of M here has underwater treadmills the dogs walk on to build back muscle.
