Exhausted/Elated

I have never known exhaustion like this. I have some post traumatic stress sleep thing going where I wake at the slightest noise. Nothing can knock me out. I woke up this morning for the hundredth time, gave walter meds, he wanted out of playpen/didnt want to be alone so I made a fort out of pee pads and furniture on the living room floor and slept with him till 11 am. I am still exhausted but then Walter stood to pee -on the living room floor, somehow managing to get the one small spot without a pee pad - and then he stood to drink water!

Walter can stand. Pins are holding. PINS ARE HOLDING!
Bones are healing.

Walter the pug = 3
Truck from hell = OUT OF LUCK!

I love, love, love seeing that picture of him standing up! He looks wonderful!

You, miss Heather, need a break! Is there anyone who can come stay with you? Have you tried Benadryl? It tends to send me off to La-La Land every time! I hope you get some rest, somehow.

For whatever it's worth, you are handling this all so much better than I would ever know how. Walter is such a lucky boy!

We are so happy to see Walter standing and drinking his water! Hang in there, Heather! We agree with Pearl & her Mom... get a pugsitter over there to help and drink a glass of wine and take a nice warm bath and get some sleep!

If we were closer, we'd come help you!

Oh look at Walter! I love how extra thick and fluffy his tail looks. And isn't it just like a pug to pee in the one spot you don't have a mat down? Silly boy!

Can your mom or a friend come stay for you for a bit or take Walter for you so you can get some rest? You need some respite care because we don't want you to crash soon!
Like Pugsley said, he is going to get more active soon and you will need to be on your toes. :)

I am so glad Walter is bouncing back so quickly...

I am so happy to hear Walter is on the mend - remember he needs you to stay healthy too - so lay down get some real rest either with Walter or have someone come and watch him while you sleep - just like when someone brings home a new baby. He needs a clear headed momma to take care of him :)

Sooo happy to hear that your mom came to the rescue! I, too, have a mom who rescues me when I need help. They're priceless!

Walter, you are looking better everyday! Looks like you've turned the corner for sure. You are so lucky to have such a dedicated mom, and she's lucky to have some much-needed backup support from her mom!

That picture brings music to my heart! I truly cannot believe he is already standing!! Walter, you crack me up so bad..If it makes you feel better, when my bichon frise gets ready to hurl, he moves from the hardwood floor to the carpet. I think they like leaving their mark on something they are not suppose to!! Keep the good news coming :)

He stood up to pee, who cares where! Each day will just better from here on out! It's hard to keep a good pug down! They're tough little dogs! You are doing a great job with him!

You're going to have to tell the other dogs in the neighborhood that they can't make fun of Walter's haircut. He went all Thunderdome with an SUV and won. That haircut is a badge of honor...

Thunderdome pug - I am falling down laughing. Yes he has a mad max haircut. Very big in Berlin.

He's all comfy at moms, I took a major nap and now and getting ready for a major sleep.

It's great to see Walter walk and drink all by it's own. Wish him the best recovery.

Wally's fur looks like a piece of clothing. Always makes me laugh.

Pug hugs and smooches.

Oh yeah, I love that haircut! Jake & Barney, however, informed me that they are NOT going to join that trend. They are so picky! So glad to see Walter standing! It's hard to keep a good pug down.
